This benefit concert is organized as part of a community-wide grassroots campaign to save Johnny's Speakeasy - a highly regarded house concert venue owned and operated by Johnny Williams, a staple of the Michigan music community. 18+ months ago Johnny's home above the Speakeasy sustained extensive damage from a serious fire. Johnny's insurance company is denying him a fair settlement, despite his paying for a premium homeowner's policy the many years he has lived in his home. In addition, the insurance company suddenly stopped paying for temporary housing for Johnny (a one bedroom apartment) last month rendering him effectively homeless. Johnny has been forced to leave Ann Arbor to live up north near family. This concert seeks to raise donations to a community founded legal fund to assist Johnny in attaining a swift and fair settlement so he can rebuild his home and salvage the beloved Speakeasy, and return to the community he has been an essential part of for decades.

My band and over a dozen other artists from a variety of genres will be performing. Lineup TBA.

So thrilled to be able to celebrate the release of my 4th studio album, BONA FIDE, at one of the finest listening rooms anywhere, The Ark - Ann Arbor! It is also my birthday, which brings something extra special to the evening. Joining me are my band members who all played a significant part in the development and recording process for this album. With endless thanks to David Roof/Rooftop Recording Studio (engineering, keys, guitar, background vocals); John Sperendi (bass, background vocals); Alan Pagliere (pedal steel); Tony Pace (electric guitar); and Brian Williams (percussion) and to producer Ben Sayler, my son and creative listening ear, who was instrumental in bringing out the heart of each song. Special guest opener is a favorite artist of mine, the wonderful Annie Bacon. To add to the event, I will have available for purchase photos from my Jerusalem Road series, a rural area just outside of Ann Arbor I love to photograph. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, an organization that works to preserve these precious natural spaces.
